You have reduced us to looking at Rotherham, yes that is what I said, Rotherham, and aspiring to be like them. You are without doubt the worst thing to ever happen to our football club. Please please disinvest from your tiny last bit of ownership and leave never to return as I for one am confident that such is the shadow you cast that this club will never have anything like success for as long as your pestilential presence persists.

I really cannot understand why anyone with ambition would aspire to have a team like Rotherham. Too good for Div1, not good enough for the Championship. A bit like Norwich but one league down.
I’m sure Paul Cook’s view isn’t shared by our owners. |  |

Probably a lot better placed than we are now. I’ve never understood this notion that the club would have folded without Evans. It’s based on the assumption that there were no other buyers out there.
Only Bury have folded in the last goodness knows how many years. Many clubs have got into trouble and just about all of them have found a buyer. I would not put a penny on Derby going to the wall. They are a name and will find a buyer. We would have done too.
So we might have been relegated. Believe it or not, we were relegated after years of the club being hollowed out by Evans with nothing good bar one or two seasons of moderate success under McCarthy and thanks largely to Murphy and McGoldrick.
We will never know, but I think it highly likely we’d have been far better off than the lower half of old Division 3 aspiring to be Rotherham and bigging up a rubbish team like Crewe. [Post edited 26 Nov 2021 13:38]
